Hello!

Hi! I’m Emily, a Southern California/Palm Springs-based, award-winning travel and lifestyle writer, editor, content strategist, and consultant.

 

Now a full-time freelancer, my previous staff roles include Senior Travel Editor at Business Insider where I managed a team of editors, reporters, and freelancers around the world for nearly five years. I launched and led travel coverage spanning commerce reviews and lifestyle angles, overseeing the strategy, assigning, editing, writing, and daily publishing of stories read by millions of people.

 

Before that, I was the Managing Editor for Porter & Sail, a successfully-acquired digital city guide app and booking platform for travelers staying at luxury and boutique hotels around the globe. I've also worked in-house at MTV, PEOPLE Magazine, ReelzChannel, Redfin, and other media outlets. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from The George Washington University.

 

Currently, I focus on travel as well as lifestyle topics spanning luxury, parenting, home, style, commerce, entertainment, and more. My work has appeared in Travel + Leisure, The Points Guy, Thrillist, Parents, Apartment Therapy, Going/Scott's Cheap Flights, The Quality Edit, Best Products, Palm Springs Life Magazine, TODAY, U.S. News & World Report, Cubby, Yahoo, MSN, and many more.

 

I've lived in Connecticut, New York, London, Los Angeles, and Tel Aviv before landing in the desert near Palm Springs. I love to travel the world with my husband and our young kids and am especially passionate about hotels.
